Photography by David Parlett
There are artists on both sides of the family. Second-cousin
Reg Parlett
was a renowned cartoonist and my mother's ancestors included several artists
named Ladbrooke associated with the
Norwich school of landscape painters.
I used to paint but gave it up for lack of time and space. Photography
has therefore become a substitute form of picture-making, being quicker,
less messy, and generally more convenient. The theory is that I photograph scenes
and things that I intend to get round to painting "when I retire".
But I doubt I ever will, so maybe I'll just stick to sketching and photography.
Meanwhile, come and share an enthusiasm for picture-making by wandering
